Book Announcement!

Tim Thurston (editor of our journal, Western Folklore) has published a bilingual (Tibetan and English) collection of Tibetan comic dialogue transcripts with Open Book publishers. Careful Village and Other Khashag from Tibet is translated in collaboration with Tsering Samdrup, and features 11 comic dialogues. This volume provides a unique way of approaching the linguistic practices and cultural issues facing Tibetan communities in the 1980s and 1990s. It has been published open access, and available at this link. In September, Tim also taught a cultural documentation field school in Tibet. Well done!
